 Kids Plus
|
Kids Plus - Kids Plus is an interactive playgroup for mothers with children 6 months through 5 years of age. Monday and Thursday at the Midway Park and Tarawa Terrace Community Centers. This program offers young mothers with children, less than school ages an opportunity to work with their children under the supervision of a Program Coordinator and the Program Assistant. More info

Little Caterpillars - This is a 10-week parent/child interactive playgroup designed for children 2-3 years old. Each session is planned to provide activities appropriate to developmental needs of young children, chance to develop social skills, such as sharing, with other children their age, crafts, music, snacks, and so much more.  Backdoor Boutique

Backdoor Boutique - This program originally began as a children's second hand clothing exchange program. It now offers immediate assistance to the entire family. The program is offered every other Friday to Active Duty Junior Enlisted service members and their families E-6 and below. The objective of this program is to provide military families immediate aide without embarrassment of revealing any financial crises that they are experiencing. Free Financial Education and Certified Credit Report Reviews are provided to service members by Pioneer Services.More info

 The Helping Hand

The Helping Hand - The Helping Hand Program distributes items such as canned and boxed goods, non-perishables, diapers and hygiene items to families in need. Family Service Centers, commanding Officers, Family Advocacy, department of Social Services, or a Chaplain must refer all families to the program. This program is designed for Junior Enlisted Families only. It offers relief for military families having temporary financial difficulties. Free Financial Education and Certified Credit Report Reviews are provided to service members by Pioneer Services. More info

 Sight for Students

Sight For Students - The Sight for Students Program is a children's support program provided by Vision Services Plan a nationwide vision health care provider. They have partnered with the ASYMCA of the USA and other nationwide agencies in identifying children in need of eye exams and glasses. The military health insurance program (TRICARE) covers one free eye exam a year but does not provide the necessary corrective eye wear for dependent children. Sight for Students provides low income military families with free eye glasses and exams. More info

Operation Hero- An after-school mentoring and tutorial program for elementary age youth that are experiencing a decline in academics or difficulty adjusting to a parent's deployment or relocation. This 10 week course is offered three times a year with an 8 to 1 ratio of students to teacher. Program includes academic tutoring and a group exercise.

Infant and Toddler Car Seat Loan - This program provides infant and toddler car seats for temporary loan from the Midway Park Satellite office for up to 90 days free of charge.

Crafty Campers - Crafty Campers is designed for children 2-7 years old to learn lots of new crafts. With the assistance of the parent, children will learn different techniques of painting ceramics, tole painting, sand art, chalks, pastels, woodworking and many more projects. The benefits of crafty campers include social, emotional, and physical development, creativity and self-expression, and positive self-awareness.

Whether you are a beginner, student, or a hobbyist you will be excited to explore our artful atmosphere. Learn the art of pottery making, carving, firing, glazing, hand building, creating decorative and functional pottery in a spacious and well-lit atmosphere. Classes for individuals or groups are available.
