Operation Hero

This mentoring program not only improves self-esteem and grades, but also allows children to find there are “heroes” inside each of them. The program, which runs for 10 weeks three times a year, targets children from grades K-5 who are experiencing temporary difficulty in school, either socially or academically. Referred by teachers, parents, or school officials, this afterschool program provides homework assistance and mentoring in small groups.
